Tigers' Seth Scott to play despite fine for on-court scuffle

MELBOURNE Tigers import Seth Scott is free to play against Wollongong on Sunday after copping a $500 fine for striking Sydney Kings forward Ben Madgen last week.

Scott, who was ejected from the game after the incident in the third quarter, pleaded guilty to the charge.

A further $500 fine and one match ban was suspended until March 24 next year.

After reviewing the game, NBL officials handed out several more penalties.

Sydney's Ian Crosswhite and Melbourne's Lucas Walker were each fined $500 for unnecessarily joining in an on-court scuffle, Madgen was fined $500 for unacceptable contact to Scott, and Melbourne Tigers court announcer Wayne Peterson was given a suspended $500 fine for unacceptable behaviour.

Sydney's Aaron Bruce and coach Shane Heal were also formally warned for incidents during the game, Heal for leaving the designated bench area during the scuffle.

In other round eight games, Cairns will host Sydney tonight and Perth, who took on New Zealand at home last night, will travel to north Queensland to play Townsville tomorrow night.
