Avondale coach Mick O'Sullivan was wrapt with his team's performance in the 46-24 win over Miriam Vale in the Northern Districts Rugby League.

However, he told his players to enjoy it now but don't get carried away because he is preparing for a big game against South Kolan.

In the weekend's game against Miriam Vale, Avondale kept its structured, despite having its captain, Daniel Steemson, sent off in the 20th minute of the game for striking.

Avondale outscored its opponents nine tries to four, with Viliami Tufulele who scoring five tries.

O'Sullivan said his team has to keep working on ball handling and defensive skills, as it prepares for what could be a grand final preview against South Kolan, which claimed two competition points in an 84-24 thrashing of Agnes Water.

One of the keys to victory against South Kolan could be the form of Tufulele, and how he performs against the Sharks dangerous backline.

Avondale could be going into the game without their captain and star player Steemson, who could be suspended for striking.

If Steemson is suspended he will be sorely missed by his team.

In the result of the other game at Burnett Heads, Gin Gin defeated the hosts 32-26.
