Three-year-old boy dies after single-vehicle crash

A THREE-year-old boy died in a single-vehicle crash near Shelbourne yesterday afternoon.

Preliminary information indicates the boy was travelling with family members when their vehicle rolled on the Bamaga Bypass Road, Shelbourne - north of the Captain Billy Landing turn off - around 4.30pm.

The four adult males are not believed to have sustained any significant injuries and the boy is believed to have died at the scene.

A passing motorist transported all five to Jardine River to meet up with police and ambulance officers.

The males, aged 17, 30 and 41 are from Napranum, White Rock and Rocky Point. The eldest man was driving at the time of the crash.

Police investigations are continuing.
