Three crashes in three days

THE Isis Highway nearly claimed another victim yesterday morning, after a crash between a car and a prime mover.

It was the third accident in as many days on the busy highway — but luckily, both drivers survived the impact as the vehicles collided almost head-on.

South Kolan Senior Constable John Lowe said it was amazing no-one was killed.

The 66-year-old male driver of the sedan was taken to Bundaberg Hospital suffering suspected spinal injuries, cuts and bruising.

The driver of the semi-trailer was unhurt, but left in shock.

Just six hours earlier and 15km away, a truck jacknifed on the highway as the driver swerved to miss a cow, with neither man nor beast injured.

Ten backpackers were hurt on Sunday morning after their minibus also rolled over on the highway.
