Three of the best for Beckett and Taylor at Thabeban Park

STADO'S Babe was the only winner for a Bundaberg trainer in the return to greyhound racing to Thabeban Park at the weekend - but the disappointment of one local victor was offset by the superb performances of visiting trainers.

Narelle Mulcahy waited until race 10 for a local win. Spring Gift was second and Farmor Classic was third.

Dallas Beckett of Glendale was one of two trainers to have three winners on the trot in races two to four over 460m.

Quick Witted was too fast in the Maiden race 2 with a narrow 3/4 length win over Motella in second and outsider Ganstar's Guess in third.

In the 5th-grade race 3, Star Speed jumped well from box 1 to get the prize over Absorbing Speed and Spring Colorado.

Beckett's final winner of the afternoon was Spring Justice in race 4.

Spring Justice streaked clear to finish 5 1/4 lengths ahead of Set For Life with Spring Raven a further 1 1/2 back.

Once Beckett had his fun it was Darren Taylor's turn, and the Bouldercombe-based trainer had three consecutive wins of his own.

Firstly Boom To Zoom didn't let a wide start cause any issues when he bolted from box 8 in race 5 to get the first of Taylor's three wins.

Marlie's Money was second and Cliserene Blondi was second and third in the 460m 4th grade.

Sweet Humour was the fastest of Taylor's winners with a four-length win in race 6 (4th grade 460m), Sweet Humour's time of 26.69 was the best for the day over the distance.

Dana Gabbi lived up to pre-race favouritism with a win in race 7.

The 550m 4/5-grade win topped Taylor's day off well, Lovell and Kalynda Chase filled the minor placings.

Christine Pollard made the trip from Emerald a good one with a double.

Captain Goodtime in race 1 and west Hot Sherrif in race 8 were Pollard's winners.

Gareth Miggins broke the trio's hold on first place with Twenty Three's win in race 9.

Bundaberg Greyhound Club will be holding their presentation night on Friday to celebrate the success of 2012 and look ahead to the big year at the club.

Tickets are available at the office and for more detail call 4152 2033.
