THOUSANDS of people turned out for the most colourful fun run of the year in Bundaberg yesterday.

During the course of the 5km fun run participants were sprayed with colour as they took part.

Color Vibe 5km Fun Run organiser Taylor Manning said the event was to promote a fun, healthy lifestyle.

He said covering runners in various colours was a way to have a bit more fun during the run.

"At the start line we have blowers that are like colour cannons," he said.

"There are also four colour stations along the course.

"Everybody gets covered in different colours."

Mr Manning said after the run there was a dance party during which people got coloured powder they could throw in the air.

He estimated between 2500 and 3000 people took part in yesterday's run in Bundaberg.

Everybody who took part received a Color Vibe shirt and a swag bag filled with goodies.
