The wedding surprise that just couldn't wait

AN Ipswich bride's wedding dilemma turned out to be a blessing in disguise, after one of her heavily pregnant bridesmaids gave birth to a beautiful baby on the day she was set to tie the knot.

Bernadette Turner - who married Jamie Beahan at McLeod Country Golf Club on October 17 - expected one of her bridesmaids to be heavily pregnant on the day, but still about five weeks from giving birth.

Early on her wedding day, she was told the time had come, and little Hunter Athol Kennith Anderson had arrived into the world, tipping the scales at a healthy six pound 12 ounces.

While it was a blessing for mum, Mel and dad Andrew, the birth also left the wedding party one short.

The bride, so happy for her best friend, but also so sad to have her absent from the wedding, decided to visit Mel and baby Hunter in the hospital before heading to her wedding ceremony.

She had the perfect spare bouquet of flowers to give Mel before she drove off in the limo to tie the knot with Jamie.
