Fierce competiotion for match play title
THE match play competitions where the top eight of each grade in the club championship play off for the title are under way.
In A grade Mitch Curd defeated Ken Silcox 6/5 so he will play the winner of the semi final between Ben Warren and Mitch Bauer
Iain Sinclair defeated Joel McNamara in the first of the B-grade semi finals.
Trevor McNally is to play the winner between Dan Thomas and Ken Whan in the other semi-final to decide the other finalist.
The C-grade finalists have been decided with George Rupert to meet Harvey Collins after they defeated Paul Cuskelly 3/1 and Robert Edgar 2/1.
Bargara had a fine win in the Wide Bay Pennant when they defeated Maryborough at Bundaberg seven to two.
In the men's section, Bargara posted wins by Jordan Curd, Peter Johnson, Mitchell Bauer and Dean Pickup.
Mitchell Curd halved his match while Michelle Marsden also halved and Rae Le Bherz won her match.
Popular member Peter Drummond joined a fairly exclusive club of shooting under his age last Thursday.
An 83 off the stick gave Peter a nett 66 but that was still four off the winner - it doesn't seem fair.
The 13th hole seems to be a bit easy for some with Gary Bland and Bob Warren having eagles on it on September 5 and Warren Kleidon did the same last Saturday.
This Sunday the foursomes championships over 27 holes for both men and women will be contested.
The men will hit off the first while the women will go off the 10th tee.
Due to a change in the date some members may not be aware and at the present time nominations are little light on but members can go online to nominate.
The Bargara Ladies Classic sponsored by the Bundaberg Motor Group will be played from the Sunday to Wednesday October 11-14.
This is the 31st year for this popular event and many women have been coming back for many years.
A field of 242 have nominated for this year and the competition for outright winner should be strong with three players having under three handicaps.
