Teens assaulted over bag at quarry

FOUR teens allegedly tried to rob two other teens of a bag while swimming at a quarry in Karawatha yesterday afternoon.

Police say around 6pm a group of teens were swimming at the quarry in Karawatha State Forest when another female teen allegedly stole a bag belonging to a member of the group.

When the girl was confronted she assaulted the owner of the bag, a 15-year-old girl.

Another boy then allegedly assaulted a 16-year-old boy who was a friend of the bag's owner.

The 15-year-old girl received cuts and bruises to her face but did not require medical attention.

The 16-year-old boy received bruises to his face but did not require medical attention.

Investigations into the incident led police to an address in Beenleigh where two boys and two girls, all aged 16, were taken into custody.

A 16-year-old Eagleby boy has been charged with two counts of robbery in company and one count each of attempted robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm and extortion.

Another 16-year-old Beenleigh girl has been charged with two counts of robbery in company and one count each of attempted robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm and extortion.

A 16-year-old Labrador boy has been charged with two counts of robbery in company and one count each of attempted robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm, extortion and possession of a knife in a public place.
