New Domino's pizza store for Bargara Rd
TEENAGE Mutant Ninja Turtles won't be the only ones shouting cowabanga with excitement as Domino's pizza opens a new shop on Bargara Rd next month.
Domino's franchisee Tom Walker said this would be his forth store and the opening would create another 30 - 40 new job opportunities in Bundaberg.
"We currently have more than 150 staff in the Wide Bay with two in Hervey Bay and this is the second for Bundaberg," Mr Walker said.
"We are expanding due to Bundaberg growing and the amount of demand there is for Domino's pizza."
Pizza lover and father-of-three Patrick Bortignon said any new businesses opening in Bundaberg were good for the region.
"Anything which is going to open and create new jobs is a good thing," he said.
"I live at Coral Cove and would use the home delivery. My kids will love it."
The new store would mean places such as Bargara, The Hummock, and Burnett Heads would now have Domino's pizza home delivery service available.
"We will expand to these places and look at suburbs such Coral Cove and Elliot Heads," Mr Walker said.
"And places like Belle Eden and Bundaberg East will have deliveries within 10 minutes."
He said there was new technology in the new ovens which meant the pizza would leave the store within six minutes and any residents within a four minute drive from the East Bundaberg store would have pizza in less than 10 minutes.
"We will have these wow to ovens which cook within four minutes so it (pizza) gets there super fast," he said.
Mr Walker also said to celebrate the opening of the new store there would be discounted pizza for the whole week.
The new store will open on May 9 and will be located across the road from Acorn Child Care, Bundaberg East.
