Teen falls unconscious into creek

A TEENAGE boy nearly drowned after he hit his head and fell unconscious into a creek at Bingera this afternoon.

A Department of Community Safety spokesman said emergency crews were called to the Bingera Motocross track near Bingera Weir Rd about 1.30pm.

"There were reports of a (boy) who had hit his head and was unconscious for some time," he said.

It is believed the 14-year-old boy was swinging from a rope before he hit a tree and fell into a small creek.

"He was unconscious in the creek," the spokesman said.

Paramedics required the help of firefighters to get to where the boy had fallen.

The boy was taken to Bundaberg Hospital with minor injuries.
