Tears at the news of release

THE relief and happiness in Darryn Smith’s voice was palpable when he talked of finding out about the release of Nigel Brennan.

“He’s my soul brother from another mother,” Darryn laughed, referring to the saying he and Nigel always shared together.

“I just had tears streaming down my face for an hour,” Mr Smith said.

“It feels like Christmas has come early.”

Mr Smith said he was hoping to speak to Nigel as soon as possible and would see him as soon as his friend was up to it.

“I am feeling for what he has gone through,” Mr Smith said. “I hope he can come back and get the space he needs to recover.”
