Feeling hot and wet? Here's why

MORE than a few of us in the Bundaberg region had the fan blasting last night in a bid to get to sleep, and woke up to a thick, foggy atmosphere.

And it's May - so why is it so warm? Could it be the hottest May weather in a while?

Definitely, Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Shaun Luscombe says - but not quite the hottest on record. In fact, Monday night was 0.3 degrees off the hottest May night on record.

"Bundaberg received a minimum temperature of 20.7 last night and the record is 21," Mr Luscombe said.

Fortunately it seems we've had the stickiest of the weather for now. Listen to Mr Luscombe explain why the weather has been this way this week.
