Surfers soak up small swell

THE small swell was not enough to send surfers away from the beach this week, with a group from the Pacifique Boardriders Club making the most of the waves at Nielson Park Beach.

Stunts were high on the list of things to do as young surfers showed off their best and most daring manoeuvres.

Club president Keith Drinkwater said the disappointing swell was nothing new, with terrible surfing conditions for some time now.

"It's been shocking for the past four or five months," Mr Drinkwater said.

"They've been hanging out like you can't believe.

"They still made the most of it, though."

Mr Drinkwater said some good swell was predicted for later this week and club members were crossing their fingers for some decent waves.
