Surfers chased out of the water by shark at A-Bay
FOUR surfers have reportedly been chased out of the water by a shark at Noosa's Alexandria Bay.
Tai Jennison said he and three friends were surfing at A-Bay this morning when they saw the shark.
"We were surfing the south end at 6:30am, 20 metres out when we we approached by a shark (unknown species) around 2.5 metres long."
Fellow surfer, Jarvis Taylor said they were "scared out of the water" by the shark.
"I was surfing at Alexandria Bay this morning around 6:45am when myself and three other surfers were scared out of the water by a three metre shark...it was a very scary sight!"
Mr Jennison, a surf photographer said this isn't the first time he's encountered a shark while out in the water on the Sunshine Coast.
"Once around two weeks ago at Maroochydore and another time around one week ago at Point Cartwright."
Mr Jennison thinks he captured footage of a shark while surfing at Lennox Head recently.
"This photograph was taken the other day down at Lennox.
"This shot I took of Cody Petrie surfing and we are unsure of what we see in the background. Possibly a shark?
"We got home and expected to be safe at our home break from all of that then this happens. Pretty crazy!
"We just want people to realise they are around so they are aware of the dangers."
