Surf club hit by vandals

THE Moore Park Beach Surf Club was under attack again today — but this time, the damage was caused by vandals and not the weather.

Deputy surf club captain Scott Boon arrived to check on the clubhouse early this morning and found the building had been covered with graffiti in an apparent message to the club’s management committee: “The people who stood by and let this happen should resign in disgust now”.

“It’s disheartening to think that someone in the community would do something like that, when there was nothing we could have done to prevent the damage,” Mr Boon said.

He spent about 90 minutes washing the graffiti away, after reporting it to Bundaberg Police.
