Study help for Nathan

BUNDABERG university student Nathan Williams may have a lot on his plate this year, but at least he won’t have to worry about finances, thanks to a $20,000 Pearl Duncan Teaching Scholarship.

The former Shalom College student, who will start teaching studies at the University of Southern Queensland in Hervey Bay this year, said the scholarship would help pay for HECS and books, and had already a funded a new laptop.

“I work at Sizzler so it means I won’t have to do as many hours and it won’t be such a struggle,” he said.

Mr Williams, 18, was one of 15 Queenslanders to receive the scholarship.
