Students create dance daze

NOT even the axing of the national Rock Eisteddfod competition could stop North Bundaberg State High School from putting on a dance performance this year.

The hole in the creative calendar has resulted in the creation of Dance Hall Daze, a dance-heavy musical to be performed by the students from 7pm tonight and tomorrow.

The show, which tells the story of two competing dance schools, was written by drama teacher Sue Latimer, who is also directing the piece.

“We decided to do a musical with a lot of dance and so by writing it I was able to have groups which could do big dance productions similar to a rock eisteddfod,” she said.

Almost 100 students have come together to form the cast and crew.

The musical is being performed at the hall at North Bundaberg State High School.

Tickets to the show are $7 for adults and $5 for students and are available at the school or at the door.
