Student from Pararamatta shooting school arrested

A SYDNEY student from the same school as the 15-year-old Parramatta shooter has been arrested after posting messages supporting lasts week's killing on social media.

The teenager, who police have not yet named, is being questioned by police at Parramatta Police Station, where the shooter last week killed a civilian police accountant.

New South Wales police asked the boy about his social media posts as school resumed after a two-week holiday on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said in a statement the boy had allegedly "threatened and intimidated police", causing them to take him for questioning.

The boy had reportedly posted a news video of the shooting on Facebook, writing the victim, Curtis Cheng, "serves you right I hope them lil piggies get shot".

Numerous community and political leaders have decried the shooting as an act of terrorism since the murder last Friday, and urged the community to come together against extremism.

NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione, Premier Mike Baird & Dep Premier Troy Grant lay wreaths & pay tribute to Curtis Cheng at NSW Police Headquarters, Parramatta
