Storms on the way
A SEVERE weather warning has been issued for the Bundaberg and Wide Bay regions for later today.
The Sunshine Coast district is expected to be the most heavily effected but the bad weather may also hit the Wide Bay and Burnett.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) warning states heavy rain later today could lead to flash flooding this afternoon and on Monday.
"Twenty-four hour rainfall totals in excess of 150mm are likely, especially about the Sunshine Coast. Locations which may be affected include Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Gympie, the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Ipswich," the warning reads.
Emergency Management Queensland advises people should avoid driving through flood waters and keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
BOM will issue the next warning will by 5pm.
