Stolen dog reunited with owner

ONE of two border collies stolen from a Booyal farmer last year has been found in a joint operation between South Kolan and Gin Gin police.

A 20-year-old Sharon man was charged with stealing on Tuesday after police found one of the two breeding bitches and two puppies following a tip off from the public.

Gin Gin officer-in-charge Sergeant Tim Marrinan said information came to light about the person who allegedly stole the two purebred dogs and on Tuesday South Kolan police executed a search warrant on a Sharon property.

Police were advised one of the dogs was put down after suffering an injury while in the care of the accused but the other dog and two puppies were returned to the original owner.
