State Government ready to commit to Stadium after win

THE State Government have listened to Jonathon Thurston's call for a new stadium after last night's grand final.

Minister Assisting the Premier on North Queensland Coralee O'Rourke said the state government were ready to act.

She said it would commit $100 million to a new Townsville stadium, and called on the federal government to match it.

This is after the Cowboys captain took last night's win as an opportunity to call for the new stadium in North Queensland.
