Sporting stars in the spotlight

BUNDABERG'S sporing identities will be on show when the Bundaberg Men in Sport charity calendar is launched  tomorrow night.

Event organiser Lesley Allen said 12 of Bundaberg's sports players had accepted the chance to pose for the calendar, which aims to raise funds and awareness about men's health.

"Money raised from the calendar sales and at tomorrow's launch party will go to the Prostate Foundation and beyondblue," Mrs Allen said.

"Men's health is such an important issue."

Mrs Allen said she had no problems finding 12 Bundaberg men who were willing to star off the sporting field and grace the pages of the 2013 calendar.

"They were quite keen once I explained it was to raise funds," she said.

"There are a combination of actions shots and glamour photos.

"So far seven guys have put their hands up for the 2014 calendar, so if this one is supported, hopefully we can do it again next year."

The official launch party will be held at the Old Bundaberg Tavern function room from 7pm tomorrow.

Presale tickets are still available for $25 from the NewsMail or Hitz FM right up until about 4pm Friday. Limited tickets will be available at the door on the night.

For those who can't make the launch party, calendars will be on sale from the NewsMail, Hitz FM, Inn Style Mensland and by phoning Lesley Allen directly on 0401 853 314.
