Aquathon in need of sponsors

Dates are set, locations confirmed and the website is full steam ahead – everything is ready to go, they just need the funds.

An aquathon, which involves a swim and run leg without the bike, is set down for October 16 as the first planned event for the newly formed Bargara Triathlon Club.

It will be the first meet of the Moore Park triathlon series that includes a triathlon on March 12 and a duathlon (bike and run) on April 30.

Keen triathlete Guy McNicol and his kids Zach, Jarrah and Nelia have all been travelling to the Fraser Coast and beyond for the triathlon competition.

They are keen to host a change and have reached out to the community for financial support to make it happen.

“Everything is set to go, but we need some sponsorship to make it happen,” McNicol said.

To assist the club, visit the website at bargaratriathlon.webs.com.
