Snake found keeping warm in woman's car

A SUNSHINE Coast mechanic got a surprise when he went to service Louise Shobe's car.

Under the hood he found a carpet python keeping warm.

"A Yandina mechanic got a pretty big fright when he found this during what should have been a routine service," Max from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 said.

"This large carpet python had seen the opportunity to stay warm within this engine bay and decided to take it."

Ms Shobes said she was glad the beautiful snake could be rehomed without any harm.

"Thanks to my mechanic Brett at BLT Mobile Mechanics and Sunshine Coast snake catchers 24/7 for rehoming this beauty who was unknowingly hibernating in my car," she said.

"It sure wasn't a scheduled item on my routine service and gave him a big surprise."
