River expected to peak tonight
UPDATED: THE Burnett River is expected to reach a peak of 5.75m in Bundaberg at 5pm according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
The river is expected to reach 5.5m, the moderate flooding level, later this morning.
The river reached 5.72m at 3pm today and is still rising slowly.
The river reached a peak of 15.37m at Walla at 3am this morning.
Bundaberg Regional Mayor Lorraine Pyefinch said the Local Disaster Management Group will be meeting later today.
At this stage no evacuations are expected.
The Bureau will be releasing a revised flood warning at 7pm.
