One taken to hospital as five people pulled from surf

UPDATE 6.45PM: One person has been taken to hospital after he and four others got into trouble in the surf at Marcoola Beach.

Emergency services rushed to the beach about 6.20pm with reports six swimmers were in trouble.

They were pulled from the water.

One person was said to be in altered levels of consciousness.

They were taken to Nambour General Hospital by ambulance.
