Sir Rod blown away on cloud nine

WEARING tartan trousers as a nod to his Scottish heritage, English rocker Rod Stewart has been knighted by Prince William at Buckingham Palace. The raspy-voiced singer was honoured "for services to music and charity”. The 71-year-old star, who was joined by wife Penny Lancaster and sons Alastair and Aiden for the investiture ceremony, later told reporters he was on cloud nine. "It feels wonderful, it really, really does. It's mind-blowing,” he said. "I said (to Prince William) how happy this made me. I just wish my mum and dad had been here to see it.”
