Shed builders a popular lot
BUNDABERG shed lovers have spoken and according to the NewsMail's Facebook audience, Bushman Sheds on Princess St is a winner.
Owner Trevor de Git said his family had built around 900 sheds for Bundaberg since taking on the business.
"We've been doing it now as our own business coming up to six years now,” he said.
"It's always been a family affair.”
Mr de Git said while he worked on some industrial and farm sheds, he predominately built domestic sheds in backyards.
"Generally the industry's pretty good and it keeps people employed,” he said, adding that he had everyone from concr
eters to engineers on board ready to make the region's sheds happen.
"A lot of companies will only have a standard shed design, but my guys can design whatever the customers needs,” he said.
"Not that we have to do that a great deal most of the time because most people go for the regular sheds.”
Mr de Git, who started as a Ranbuild shed salesman and part owner before embarking on Bushman Sheds, said 6x9s were the most common build.
"Everyone now is going to the bigger sheds,” he said.
Mr de Git said his family fell in love with the region and moved here from the mines in 1997.
They set up house in Coral Cove and haven't looked back since.
Customer Cameron Hull said he loved Bushman Sheds.
"Friendly staff and will do sheds in all sizes,” he said.
"Top bloke, friendly staff, great service,” Cale Harrison said.
