FORMER Bundaberg Bull Willie Shackleford will be wearing number 24 for his new club Gladstone in this year's Queensland Basketball League.

The forward will tomorrow return to Bundaberg Basketball Stadium for his new club when they take on the Sunshine Coast Rip in their final trial game before the season.

And it could be an important clash for him.

The Port City Power will be without Patrick Ciganovic (198cm) and Nathaniel Musters (211cm) for the first few games this season, leaving plenty of responsibility to the Shack.

Power coach Blair Smith said that also provided opportunities for his squad to shine.

"We've got a squad of 19 and we'll pick the best guys who are getting it done in training,” he said.

"Those will be the ones who make the roster for that week. That's a luxury we've never had, to have all those guys come to training is fantastic.”

The Power takes on the Rip tomorrow at 6.30pm.
