Sculpting some fun during Crush

STUDENTS from Isis and Gin Gin State High Schools were treated to a series of half-day sculpture workshops as part of the Crush Festival celebrations last week.

Vintner's Secret Vineyard artist in residence Andrew MacDonald guided students from Years 9 to 12 through the construction of sculptures from discarded and found objects.

Students only had a short amount of time to construct their artwork and came up with some interesting ideas including a crab, a flower, a bee and a bicycle.

A sculpture workshop for adults will be held on Saturday at the vineyard.

The finale event for the festival will be an exhibition of sculptures produced throughout the month and a poetry reading with Jan Facey and Jayson Russell from the Bundaberg Poets' Society.

The event will be held on October 31 from 3pm until 6pm at the vineyard in Childers.
