Schools to share the new skills

FEDERAL Member for Flynn Chris Trevor yesterday announced both Gin Gin State High School and Rosedale State School will share funding under the Rudd government’s new Bundaberg Region Trade Training Centre.

Mr Trevor said that he was pleased that these two schools were included in the new multi-campus trade training centre that will see local students given opportunities to develop skills in a world class learning environment.

“The Trade Training Centre will see an upgrade to the engineering, hospitality and construction facilities at the Gin Gin State High School while Rosedale State High will have its construction, engineering, hospitality and rural operations facilities upgraded,” Mr Trevor said.

“The schools will also purchase additional equipment to ensure that our local kids have the right tools to learn with.”

The new Bundaberg Region Trade Training Centre is an $11.6 million investment by the Rudd government in the area and will ensure local students have access to the latest training in traditional and emerging trades.

“This training centre will ensure our local kids are learning vital skills in up to date and modern facilities and will give them the best start in life that they deserve,” Mr Trevor said.

“It will also benefit our local communities by ensuring our kids are engaged and don’t need to leave our smaller towns just to gain access to training and to learn new skills.”
