Santa all set for wet Christmas

EVEN South Kolan’s roadside Santa had to make a few changes to accommodate Bundaberg’s big wet

Gin Gin Road resident Steve Kelly provided the popular attraction with a snorkel, life jacket and umbrella, much to the delight of children, backpackers and motorists.

“He’s popular at the best of times but people have really seemed to take a shine to his wet weather get-up, we’ve had people over to get photos all weekend.”

Mr Kelly said the downpour which set in around South Kolan was among the most intense he had seen. A total of 152mm fell on his property.

“I’m suprised Santa wasn’t swept away,” he said.“I think his snorkel’s going to come in handy because I’ve got a feeling there’s more on the way.”
