Doolbi Fiveways facelift

NEW traffic measures at the Doolbi Fiveways are set to improve safety for motorists.

The speed to the intersection has been dropped to 60km/h on Station, Mamminos and Lucketts roads, with a Give Way sign installed on Station Road.

Fluorescent warning signs have gone in on Lucketts Road and speed signs have also been erected on Goodwood Road.

Major tree clearing will be carried out to improve visibility in the next few weeks.

Bundaberg Regional Council Roads and Drainage spokesperson Cr Wayne Honor said it was good to see work progressing.

“The changes at the Fiveways intersection are a step in the right direction,” he said.

“It will improve a complex safety concern of the motorists that use this network of interconnecting roads.”

“There is much more complex planning under way involving council and the Main Roads Department to further improve road safety on the triangular circuit between the intersections.”
