Safe stolen from Mt Perry home

DETECTIVES are investigating a home break-in at Mt Perry on Sunday where a safe containing cash was stolen.

Bundaberg Police Sergeant Mike McLellan said it was believed the Towns Creek Rd home was targeted by the thieves between 9am-4.30pm, while its occupants were out.

"It appears that two male persons have forced entry into the house and searched through it," Sgt McLellan said.

Sgt McLellan said it was more than likely the thieves were after cash, as nothing else in the home had been taken.

"The Criminal Investigation Branch and Scenes of Crime have been out taking fingerprints yesterdaymon," he said.

"We're looking for anyone who might have information that may assist, to come forward."

Witnesses can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Bundaberg police on 4153 9111.
