IT IS still early in the 2014-2015 Bundaberg Division 1/2 cricket season but a few of the best performers of past years found some welcomed form in the Twenty20 games to start the competition.

Teenage batting sensation Joel Saunders belted 77 from 56 balls for Brothers (Division 1) in the total of 3-150 against Norths. And in reply Norths plodded along for the twenty overs and made 4-118.

In the Norths (Div 2) and Across The Waves (Div 1) clash, Norths' Todd Sommerfeld made a well-timed 75 from 58 balls to set a competitive target of 5-141.

But the reining Twenty20 champions timed their reply perfectly and snuck with only a few balls to spare with 3-142.

Continuing his return to cricket, Mat Fleming cracked a wonderful 52 not out from 39 balls to give himself some confidence as the season gets underway.

The best bowling performance of the weekend in the Div 1/2 competition went to ATW's Chris Duff.

Duff took 3-15 in four tight overs against Norths in the seven-wicket win.
