'Rudd's got silky hair, Abbott's toned - but I make sense'
WOULD-BE Prime Minister Clive Palmer has taken aim at a silky-haired Kevin Rudd and buff Tony Abbott ahead of the federal election on September 7.
Mr Palmer, the mining billionaire who this year created his own political party to run canidates in the federal election across Australia, had a crack at his opposition on Twitter, promising that he would deliver "real solutions" if elected.
"My hair is not as silky as Rudd's and my body not as toned as Abbott's but I offer common sense and real business experience, " he tweeted.
Earlier, he delivered "@KRuddMP & @TonyAbbottMHR just tell lies. At Sunday's @PalmerUtdParty launch at Coolum we will offer real solutions for Australia".
The colourful political hopeful has been using a direct approach in his political campaign, taking to social media frequently.
He also had a DVD delivered to 4 million homes to get his message across, ending up in a bun fight with some Australian businesses who believed the DVD and its cover should have been produced in Australia rather than China.
However, in a tweet yesterday, Mr Palmer declared the DVD operation a success.
"Thanks for the great feedback on the @PalmerUtdParty DVDs we have distributed nationwide. The response has been overwhelming," Mr Palmer tweeted.
