RSPCA not a Christmas animal dump
THE Bundaberg RSPCA shelter is being swamped with unwanted, unloved pets and is desperately looking for owners.
Shelter manager Vicki Beer said she had 130 animals abandoned at the shelter in the past eight days, while Noosa had just 27.
“We don't have the room for them all,” she said.
“It's getting beyond a joke.”
Ms Beer said the only choice was euthanasing animals when the shelter became overcrowded.
“We hate doing it,” she said.
“We're here to love animals – not kill them.”
Two pets looking for a home are Buster the Rottweiler and Molly the long-haired Chihuahua.
Buster is a 12-week-old male puppy who will need training and an active and loving family.
He was abandoned three weeks ago.
Molly is a tan and white four-year-old female Chihuahua. She has the temperament of “a little old lady” and would suit any loving home.
To adopt Buster or Molly, call the shelter on 4155 1736.
