Rodeo event a big one for Alloway Country Club
THINGS are going to get buck wild at Alloway Country Club on December 12 when Petrol Cowboys come to town.
Club operations manager Trish Ryan said the Central Rodeo Cowboys Association Inc event promised to be a great night out for the whole family, with lots of bull riding excitement, live music and a licensed bar.
"We don't have a lot of big entertainment events in Bundaberg so this is something exciting that we want to see everyone involved in," she said.
Ms Ryan said the event was part of the Alloway Country Club's re-establishment after being placed into voluntary administration in May.
A Deed of Company arrangement was made and the company was placed back into the hands of the Alloway Country Club directors.
"Despite what was reported, the club never shut its doors. We stayed open and want to assure all of our members and the public that we are still open for business as usual," she said.
"We now have new management, a brand new kitchen, new staff and a new chef. We really need the community to get behind us and support the club."
"Our opening hours have also changed to 2pm from Monday to Wednesday and 11am Thursday to Sunday."
Ms Ryan said staff were gearing up for a busy festive season, with events planned and Christmas party bookings available.
She said the rodeo was the next big event on the list and urged people to buy tickets.
"After the rodeo, we will have some motorbike demonstrations, live music and fireworks," she said.
"There will also be food vendors on site, ATM facilities and a courtesy bus will run from the Bundaberg Post Office and out to the club and will then make return trips during the night."
Gates will open at 6pm with the Petrol Cowboys event to begin at 7pm.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
