Rockhampton’s Lydia Hunt a familiar face at NYFW runway

KIM Kardashian might be a familiar face in the audience of fashion's biggest annual event but Rockhampton's Lydia Hunt has become the New York Fashion Week regular.

The 21-year-old model is currently walking in her third NYFW since graduating from The Cathedral College in 2011.

Among all of the outfit changes and catwalk runs, Lydia spoke with The Morning Bulletin about what it's like to be a part of the world's busiest fashion week in the Big Apple.

"It's been so hectic and crazy but I'm loving every minute of it," she said.

"NYFW is amazing and I've met so many people from all over the world, it's just so much fun because the people you work with is what makes this event what it is.

"Although I haven't walked the runway with any celebrities yet, I did see Victoria Secret super model Karlie Kloss in the street a few days ago.

"This is my third NYFW so I've now gotten to know a lot of the casting directors, designers and models but it's always a nice surprise when you run into models you've previously met in other countries here at NYFW. It's kind of like a reunion."

Lydia has called a number of places home in the past two years including Tokyo, Los Angeles and now New York.

"I've been in New York for three weeks now and will be staying here for another few months before heading back to Australia for Christmas which I'm really excited about. It's always good to go back to my real home."
