Rhianna credits 42kg transformation to her PT

TWO years ago Rhianna Cunningham weighed 110kg, now she only weighs 68kg.

The 21-year-old said while it was initially her sister who convinced her to join the gym, she credits her 42kg weightloss success to her personal trainer and encourages those struggling to get their health in order to find a PT to help.

"We (Rhianna and her sister) were going to the gym together a bit until I started to lose motivation and decided to look into a personal trainer to help keep me accountable," she said.

"Ryan (Marshall) was working as a personal trainer at the gym I first joined. He was recommended to me by the club when I sat down and asked about what trainers they had.

"Ryan has changed my life in so many ways. He stuck by me through every meltdown, every tantrum, every 'I quit' and gently reminded me this isn't about winning or quitting, this was about a healthier lifestyle.

"He's helped me come out of my shell so much and made me feel confident enough to take on challenges in all areas of life. He's proved to me that with the right support, you can do anything you set your mind to and that's a pretty incredible thing to have realised at 21."

Rhianna said while she had lost a mammoth amount of weight she was still training with Ryan every week.

"People always tell me I don't have to keep going now that I know what I'm doing or now that I've learnt what I have but I know that I wouldn't push myself anywhere near as hard as he pushes me in our sessions," she said.

"I have a tendency to slack off if I'm by myself so training with Ryan keeps me motivated and it's good to have someone else who celebrates your achievements with you. It also keeps me accountable for everything. I pretty much never have bad days anymore where I binge on any bad food I can find because I know Ryan and I have worked so hard to get here."

Rhianna encouraged others looking to get into shape to

"There is nothing to lose and everything to gain. It's the biggest feeling of accomplishment and everyone deserves to feel happy and confident in their skin," she said.

"Getting fitter has made me feel incredible. I feel so proud of how far I've come and looking back some days it still doesn't quite feel real. I'm the happiest and healthiest I've ever been."
