REVEALED: Six QLD islands you can buy right now

IMAGINE ducking away to your own, private island for the weekend.

It would be a dream come true - right?

The Morning Bulletin can reveal there are six private islands for sale in the Central Queensland region and one, or three of them in some cases, could be yours.

1. Quoin Island

Situated off the Capricornia Coast near Gladstone, Quoin Island is on the market for an absolute steal at just $2 million.

The North facing island is heralded as one of the best kept secrets in the region and has been in the hands of it's current owerns for many years.

This is a freehold island which is rare as most islands are leasehold. Freehold islands do not come on the market often.

The 12 acres of undeveloped freehold land boasts deep water beaches with its own private shell and sand gateway to park your boat.

In true tropical island style, coconut trees are scattered across the property while wallabies and koalas have also been spotted.

There is a ferry that will dock onto the Island three times a day if required, as it passes Quoin Island on its route to service other areas within the region as well as a barge service.

Please contact Richard Vanhoff on 0415107515 or for further information or to arrange an inspection.

2. Temple Island

A relatively new slice of paradise on the market, Temple Island is priced at just $850,000 having been reduced for quick sale.

The tropical island is a rare gem situated just 3km off the CQ coast near Cape Palmerstone.

No tents are required at this private paradise with a four bedroom high-set home located on the most exquisite point on the island.

Access to the island is also easy as it boasts its own private 1100m airstrip surrounded by tropical rainforest, orchids and exotic plants.

Throw in a line to catch a feast of fish or eat oysters directly off the rocks.

Other island assets included in the sale are a tractor and slasher, a 1986 Range Rover, ride on mower, solar hot water system, generator 240 volts, Boat 4 meter with 25hp Yamaha motor, phone, large rainwater tanks, generator, dam and a bore that has produced great water in the past (not used at this time as plenty of rain water).

3. The Duke Group (Three islands)

For the hefty price of $12 million, you could own this three-island package off the Capricorn Coast.

Located near Stanage north of Yeppoon, the Archipelago Island Property consists of three islands known as the Duke Group commonly recognised as Marble Island (2500 acres), Hunter Island (300 acres) and Tynemouth Island (500 acres) with Marble being the principal island.

All three islands offer fantastic fishing in crystal blue water as well as open water sailing opportunities and a mass of wildlife including deer, cattle and birds is present on the island.

A 600m airstrip on Marble Island allows for easy plane access and a barge is part of the asset list.

No expenses have been spared when it comes to accommodation with the owner's three bedroom, two bathroom beach house featuring polished marble flooring and an open plan kitchen and living area with superb ocean views.

The managers accommodation is a modern three bedroom home featuring large verandas and a full sized tennis court while the beach front guest house boasts two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The island trio also features sheds and cold rooms built into the accommodation.

Marble Island has an approval to build accommodation for an extra 12 visitors or family.

4. Turtle Island

Located off the CQ coast at Port Curtis, the exquisite Turtle Island has previously caught the eye of celebrities such as Julie Roberts and more recently, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

The LA duo were poised to purchase the private property in 2014 with plans to build their own theme park.

The island was developed by horse-racing heavyweight Bob Bentley, who bought it in the 1990s for $300,000 and is now on the market for $5 million.

And it comes with a four bedroom, five bathroom mansion.

The phenomenal main home on the island features a huge kitchen equipped with state-of-the-art appliances and a pantry the size of a bedroom, lounge and family areas with high ceilings and wooden floors, a pool room, a music room and the gem amongst it all - the main bedroom which boasts a large modern bathroom and spacious walk-in robe overlooking tropical gardens and the ocean.

The home even has its own guest wing with three separate bedrooms with their own lounge, bathroom and TV plus veranda and in-ground pool.

Access to the property includes a private jetty and helipad.

Included in the sale are 15 huge fresh water tanks all interconnected and two dams, solar panel collectors supplemented with a powerful diesel generator, all appliances and fixtures including lighting are at mainland voltage and the system is set up to ensure all the appliances are run at optimum levels utilising alternate energy at its maximum potential.

There is a large interconnected colour bond shed(s) which house and control the watering and electrical system, as well as provide an area for the tractor ride-ons and the fun toys such as inflatables, motor bikes, etc.
