Residents saved from new tax

The Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme has been dealt a mortal blow and locals have been spared from a massive new tax that was going to do nothing to help the environment, according to Member for Hinkler Paul Neville.

Mr Neville said the Senate vote against this massive new tax was led by the people of Australia who had listened to The Nationals.

“We have been telling people all over Australia that rather than being a plan to save the environment this Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme was simply a new tax that would bring billions of dollars into government coffers,” he said.

Mr Neville said the defeat of the passage of the bills was the right decision for all Australians.
