Rece Hansen bags five of the best

TOUCH: Rece Hansen ran amok with five touchdowns as Rhinos overpowered Vipers 9-1 in their Bundaberg Junior Touch 2000-01 boys clash on Friday night.

Samuel Monk was their only other multiple-scorer in the game with a double.

There were two other blow-outs in the division with Cougars also accounting for Vikings with the same score-line and Knights running out 8-2 victors over Bulls.

Jake Evans, Nathan Cook and Reyce Hall each bagged doubles for Cougars, while Zion Woetai, Nicholas Kitchener and Jack Watson also each achieved the same feat for Knights.

Three other players each racked up four-touchdown hauls on the night, Bears' Julia Baren and Magic's Kelsie Hansen, both in the 2001-02 girls' age group, and Kolbi Wood, who continued his superb form for Hawks in the 2002-03 boys' division.

Baren starred in an 8-1 blitz of Possums, but Jessica Lane also featured with a hat-trick, while Hansen was a match winner as Magic out-shone Stars 5-1.

Wood was a hero as Hawks edged out Eels 7-6 in an epic showdown, in which Nicholas Barrett also crossed three teams in the losing side.

In the same division, Rylee Johnson continued his scoring spree, picking up three more to feature as Wasps put the sting on Razorbacks 7-3.

There were two titanic duels in the showpiece open boys Division 1 with Patrick Snow and Jayden Clissold each doubling up as Colarado shaded Quicksilver 6-5.

Kyle Laybutt went one better for Mambo but it was not enough as they had to settle for a 5-all draw with Rusty.

Bulldogs produced the biggest win of the round, accounting for Cyclones 12-2 in their open boys Division 2 duel with all-rounders Zac McLellan and Brodie Johnston registering twin hat-tricks.

Riley Batt also grabbed three for Wildcats in open girls Division 1 but they were pipped by Gazelles 4-3.
