Ready to deliver on home patch
BOWLS: All eyes will be on Bargara's Nick Cahill today when the junior bowls state titles begin in the Rum City.
The talented bowler will be looking to repeat what he did last year when he won the singles, doubles, triples and fours events in under-18s at Caloundra.
Bundaberg will host the event with the titles moved to January rather than April last year.
Cahill will now have the chance to showcase his talents at home with the titles to be held at both the Burnett Bowls Club and Across The Waves Club.
He will team up with Shervawn Wilson, Rebecca Rixon, Jessie Cottell in the fours, Rixon and Cottell in the triples and Cottell in the doubles.
Cahill isn't the only Bundy bowler in action.
Organiser Des Kemp said the others will just as hungry to win their own titles. he was one of the talented Bundy juniors to look out for at the event.
"We are lucky in that we have a strong team who work well together and includes Jack Davies, Breeanna Pegg, Ira Korner, Nick Cahill, Matthew Todd, Justin Todd and Hannah Ogden,” he said.
"This championship will be interesting for Ira Korner as this is his first junior state championships, while Nick Cahill has won junior gold medals previously and Hannah, Breeanna, Matthew and Justin have won silver medals in the past.”
The tournament will start at 8.30am today with under-18 fours in action.
