Raising funds through music

AROUND 130 people enjoyed a weekend of good music and good company all in the name of fundraising.

The Catholic Parish of Bundaberg kicked off its first Relay For Life's Musical Recital and Wine and Cheese event on Saturday afternoon.

Team leader Denise Tuzes said the day featured a range of musical performances at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

"We had a number of Shalom students who played as well as violinists, harpists, a string group, singers and an organist," she said.

"All musicians gave their time freely."

Ms Tuzes said attendees were invited to wine and cheese after performances.

"It was a really lovely afternoon in Bundaberg where people could donate and listen to some fantastic music," she said.

Next fundraiser

The Catholic Parish of Bundaberg's next fundraising event will be a Mad Hatters High Tea to be held at St. Patrick's Hall on July 25.
