Quilters have great show

THE Bundaberg Quilters are busy preparing for 4000 visitors expected to view their quilt exhibition this weekend.

The exhibition is set to open tonight at 6.30pm and will run until Sunday.

Bundaberg Quilters exhibition co-ordinator Ailsa Koloi said 300 quilts would be on offer including 23 in the pink section challenge.

“Visitors come from everywhere,” she said.

“We even have members who have come from as far as Deniliquin in New South Wales.”

She said the 180 quilters were looking forward to the exhibition.

“The girls are so excited about putting their works on display.

“Every one has been made with love.”

Quilts are not all that is on offer with 10 traders set to sell everything from quilting goods to sewing machines.

People can view the display between 9am and 4pm tomorrow and Saturday and between 9am and 3pm Sunday.

First time exhibitor Christine Whiteman said she was looking forward to the event.

“The atmosphere is so exciting,” she said.
