Queensland renovation costs slowing down

A NEW report analysing more than 54,000 quotes submitted by tradesmen on ServiceSeeking.com.au has found that the cost of renovating your home in Queensland is slowing down.

The hourly rate to hire a builder and carpenter in Queensland saw the biggest decrease, falling 7% and 6% respectively, a larger price drop than the national average.

The most notable price rise over the last 12 months was in tiling which jumped 12.3% while the cost of landscaping also increased by 6.6%.

"Now is a great time for Queenslanders to renovate their home as prices are no longer the dearest in the country, especially as builders and carpenters have become much cheaper", ServiceSeeking CEO Jeremy Levitt said.

The full breakdown of renovation prices can be found at www.serviceseeking.com.au/renovations/qld.
