Moore Park on hunt for new signings

SOCCER: Premier league behemoth Moore Park is ramping up its recruitment drive for the 2012 Football Bundaberg Toyota Premier League season.

The green machine steamrolled Brothers Aston Villa in last year's grand final to win the premiership in only the team's second year of competition.

In addition to the premiership grand final win, Moore Park won the Mecano Cup.

The team has already started training for the season ahead and is on the lookout for any emerging talent interested in joining the club.

Coach Bruce Leslight said the team was looking for some new personnel to boost its numbers and replace players lost to work commitments.

"We have lost a few players," he said.

"We're chasing new players who would like the opportunity to play first division in an enjoyable and positive environment."

Moore Park Beach Football Club will hold a sign-on day at Frank Coulthard Oval on Clayton's Road on January 28 for players interested in joining up.

President Mark Haster said footballers from all age categories were encouraged to come along. "We are encouraging both seniors and juniors to attend," he said.

"We will have information available on that day regarding the new on-line registration and age group changes."
