Multiple patients after seven cars collide in suburbs

LATEST 4.25PM: Three people including a pregnant woman are in hospital after two multi-vehicle crashes across Toowoomba this afternoon.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said five people were assessed at the scene of a four-vehicle crash in Middle Ridge about 3.20pm.

Of those, three were taken to Toowoomba Hospital in stable conditions.

It is understood one of the patients was a pregnant woman caught up in one of the crashes.

Across town in Harristown, the scene of a three-vehicle crash has been cleared after a suspected gas leak following the collision.

A QAS spokeswoman said multiple 000 calls were received about the collision, with paramedics assessing a number of people at the scene.

The collision, at the corner of Anzac Ave and Spring St, closed the intersection with Queensland Fire and Emergency Services securing a gas leak in a vehicle.

No patients were transported to hospital.

3.35PM: A second traffic crash involving three vehicles in Harristown is making for a busy afternoon for the city's emergency services.

A three-car collision in Harristown is causing traffic delays as emergency services arrive on scene.

The crash was reported about 3.30pm.

Three cars have collided at the intersection of Anzac Ave and South St, with initial reports suggesting a number of people have been injured.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and Queensland Ambulance paramedics are en route to the crash scene.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area if possible.

BREAKING 3.20PM: Emergency services are responding to a four-vehicle crash in Middle Ridge this afternoon.

A pregnant woman is believed to have been injured in the collision reported to authorities about 3.20pm.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services have been called to the collision scene near the corner of Spring St and Hume St.

Queensland Ambulance paramedics are on scene assessing a number of patients.

Two people are being transported to hospital from the scene.
